Why look back
At the road that’s closed?
The barrier’s down,
You’re out of luck.
It’s a no-go zone,
It’s here you’re stuck.
Why look back
At the road once walked?
The should-haves, could-haves
Make no sense.
There’s nothing now,
But the present tense.
Why look back
At the road you took?
You’re who you are,
Through the steps you made.
You chose that route,
The price is paid.
Why look back
At the road to here?
The path to change
Is the one you’re on.
It might be hard,
Let’s hope it’s long.
For life is now,
Not yesterday.
You can’t go back.
You’re here to stay.
But you can choose
The next right turn,
And make it great,
Make those feet burn
Down the road to hope,
To love, to joy,
To fun and games,
Laughter ahoy!
To wonder, learning,
Rest and play.
Stop looking back,
Live life today!
Excellent philosophy. Very well written.

I really think your talent for writing is so interesting and it’s good to see in words what people know but rarely follow. Carpe diem!
