I’m Juliet, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, now living in a beautiful old city in the west of France and working full-time in an English language school.
I turned fifty last year. Surprise mixed with joy at the realisation that although the outside has certainly changed over the years, inside I am essentially the young, silly girl that I like to imagine I always will be.
This big birthday has also given me the boost to start writing again. The pure pleasure of letting the words drip from my fingertips has really hit me and this blog, which is a mish-mash of observations of moments that make me laugh or moments that make me cry, is sheer self-indulgence. I hope you get as much pleasure reading my scribblings as I do writing them.
If you enjoy my posts please feel free to share them via any source you like. And don’t hesitate to follow my blog by clicking on the link just over here on the right. Thanks!
Waiting to read your extraordinary adventures of being fifty !

So happy to follow the breadcrumbs back to your own wonderful blog! Yes, my mother read me Hansel and Gretel one too many times;-)
You’ll love the fifties. And look, you’ve already guest posted on someone else’s blog. Can’t wait to read that next!
Take care now!

I love these breadcrumbs leading us all over the world. Thank you for following me too, Stephanie. Too kind! Yeah, I’m loving the fifties. The best age to write. But you wouldn’t know yet, you look about 25.
Happy reading and so happy to ‘meet’ you.

Hi Juliet,
It’s a pleasure to connect with you! Oh, to see fifty again! The best thing about the adventures ahead is it’s easier to let go of all those restraints! There’s a freedom in aging; the rest (wrinkles, sagging, etc) suck! I’m glad you found my little corner of the world and thanks for following my blog. As someone with a son who will celebrate his fifty second birthday in 7 days time and a grand daughter who will be 23 the following week I can only say you need not despair – you still have a lot of life to live and write about.
